A Story Written for God’s Glory

I wrote my book, Into the Light, to share my transformation and testimony — my life in darkness after losing my dad, and my transition into the light of Jesus Christ. I wrote it to record my story eternally for the glory of God, so that those who read it will be encouraged to turn to Christ and step into the light in their own lives.

I wear the light across my heart so that through this ministry, I can convey the true freedom Jesus Christ offers.

How Darkness Shaped My Heart

The darkness put a veil over my heart. It condemned me to guilt and shame. It brought my sins into focus, rippling across those around me — especially my family.

This is what the god of this world does:

• it focuses us on our imperfections
• it magnifies our sins
• it makes condemnation feel normal
• it encourages darkness to grow
• it restrains the spirit from the light

Darkness blinds. Darkness isolates. Darkness suffocates the spirit.

The Veil Lifted by Christ

My testimony is about setting the spirit free from darkness — lifting the veil that the god of this world masks over the heart.

True restoration and true freedom come only through God and through Jesus Christ.

It is through the death of Christ that faith holds darkness accountable. It is through the resurrection that darkness is sentenced to eternal condemnation — and our spirit is brought into the light.

Christ removes the veil. Christ restores the heart. Christ frees the spirit.

Learning to Walk in the Light

Since that day, I strive to be present with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I ground myself in the Word of God. I pray and spend time with Him. I remind myself that gaining more light comes through the love I give to others.

The more I take in Christ — in my life, in my actions, in my interactions — the more at peace I am, and the more present I am with Jesus.

The Faithfulness of God

Yes, I am still of the flesh. Yes, I still suffer through the temptations of the god of this world.

But the great thing about our Lord is this:

Through imperfections and sins, we have a God who is forgiving, loving, and faithful.

We have a Son who willingly went to the cross to show us His eternal love.

Darkness does not have to rule over our lives. The light of Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

Living Proof of His Restoration

My testimony is living proof of Jesus Christ working in my life.

Proof that darkness does not condemn me. Proof that Christ sets me free. Proof of Jesus’ love in action. Proof of the power of forgiveness. Proof of what God’s grace and mercy can do for the spirit.

From Faithless to Faithful

I lived 18 years faithless to Jesus Christ. During those same 18 years, Jesus was always faithful to me.

Darkness ruled; the light overcame. Hate and anger became faith and worship. Blaming God became loving God. Condemnation became glory to Jesus Christ.

A Call to Step Into the Light

Seek the light. Seek the Kingdom of God. Seek the glory Jesus has for you.

Jesus has already set forth the path to restoration — you simply have to want to step out of the darkness and into the light.
