A Story Written for God’s Glory
I wrote my book, Into the Light, to share with you my transformation and testimony of my life in darkness after the loss of my dad and my transition into the light of Jesus Christ. I wrote it to record it eternally for the Glory of God, so that those who read it will be encouraged to turn to Christ and turn to the light in their own life. I wear the light across my heart so that through this ministry I am able to convey the true freedom that Jesus Christ has to offer.
How Darkness Shaped My Heart
The darkness put a veil over my heart; it condemned me to my guilt and shame. It brought my sins into focus, which rippled across those around me, especially my family. This is what the god of this world does; it sets focus upon us—on our imperfections and sins. It makes condemnation normal and encourages the darkness to grow inside you. As the darkness grows, the spirit is restrained from the light.
The Veil Lifted by Christ
My testimony is about setting the spirit free from the darkness and lifting that veil that the god of this world does so well to mask over the heart. True restoration and true freedom are through God and through Jesus Christ. It is through the death of Christ where faith holds darkness accountable, and it is through the resurrection where that accountability is sentenced to eternal condemnation and where our spirit is free and brought into the light.
Learning to Walk in the Light
Since that day, I strive to do what I can to be present with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I do this by grounding myself with the Word of God as much as I can, by prayer and being with God, and as I interact with people, reminding myself that to gain more light is through the love I give to others. The more I take in of Christ in my life, and in all that I do, the more at peace I am, and the more present I am with Jesus.
The Faithfulness of God
Yes, I am still of the flesh, and I still suffer through the god of this world and all of its temptations. But the great thing about our Lord is that through the imperfections and sins, we have a Lord who is forgiving, loving, and faithful. We have a Son who is willing to go to the cross to show us the eternal love He has for us. Darkness does not have to rule over our lives, for the light of Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.
Living Proof of His Restoration
My testimony is just that—living proof of Jesus Christ working in my life. Proof that darkness does not condemn my life, and that Christ sets me free of that darkness. I am proof of Jesus’ love in action, the power of forgiveness, and what God’s grace and mercy can do for the spirit.
From Faithless to Faithful
I lived 18 years faithless to Jesus Christ. During those same 18 years, Jesus was always faithful to me. Darkness ruled; the light overcame. Hate and anger became faith and worship. Blaming God became loving God. Condemnation became glory to Jesus Christ.
A Call to Step Into the Light
Seek the light.
Seek the Kingdom of God.
Seek the glory that Jesus has for you.
Jesus has already set forth the path to restoration; you just have to want to step out of the darkness and into the light.
