Intro Summary
After a season of silence, I’m returning to this blog with a renewed mission: to help others find peace through Jesus Christ. My personal testimony of overcoming spiritual exhaustion and rediscovering faith is just one example of how His restoration is real and available. This post reflects on my own journey through stagnant faith and grief, and offers a fresh perspective on the Christian peace that only Christ can provide.
Rediscovering My Faith Journey After Moving to Kansas
It has been a very long time since I have posted anything to this blog. The truth is that I moved to Kansas, and after this move I stopped practicing my faith. I stopped praying. I stopped putting God first. I stopped reading the Bible. I stopped everything that led me to moving to Kansas. I just stopped everything with God.
Spiritual Exhaustion and Stagnant Faith
Now I don’t know if God hardened my heart, but it felt like after I prayed to God for everything I received in Kansas – new start, new home, new place, and new life – things in my life became difficult. I knew that I needed to lean on God, but I didn’t put forth the steps towards Him. It’s not like I didn’t want to, it felt like I was just spiritually exhausted.
I thought my mission was clear. But clearly it wasn’t, as I struggled with my faith. Even after receiving the Holy Spirit and being restored through Christ, I was still on a very unclear path.
Faith Over Feelings: Walking by Faith, Not by Sight
But I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” This reminds me in the most profound way that even though I am of faith, my faith was not moving forward, for I was not walking with Christ.
John said it best in Revelation 3:16, “So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
Hebrews 6:1 says, “Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance.”
These verses remind me that lukewarm faith leads to stagnation, but Christ calls us to renewal and maturity.
Finding Peace Through Jesus Christ After Grief
I believe God was showing this to me, that I needed to experience this in order to move forward with my faith and rediscover my purpose in life. God put me in this season of stagnant faith to remind me to focus on Him once again.
However, I realized what the Lord so graciously gave me through the darkness of my dad’s passing is peace. He gave me light. He showed me what peace is, and how the Kingdom of Heaven is within reach, and how many people are missing it in their hearts and in their lives. Even though I was in my darkness and stagnation, I still found a way to be at peace — and that is only through Jesus Christ.
My Mission and Ministry
So that is my mission. That is my ministry. For over 2,000 years since Christ walked the earth, His message of peace has remained the same. I don’t claim to add anything new to it, but I can share my personal testimony as a fresh new perspective on peace through Christ.
My prayer is that as you follow my journey, you’ll see that if Jesus Christ can provide peace for me, He can provide peace for you too.
Conclusion: Peace I Leave With You
I’d like to thank you for your time and reading this. I’d like to thank you for visiting this blog again, and I’d like to encourage you to seek Jesus Christ and find peace.
Even in seasons of spiritual exhaustion and grief, I’ve discovered that true Christian peace comes only through Jesus Christ. His restoration is real, and His love is available to anyone who seeks Him.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” – John 14:27.
Peace be with you.
Brian
